If you're interested in economics I find this page to be quite a timewaster, as antidan suggested wikipedia (random article) is not bad either. Oh how I would love to be a freedom fighter. I have no technical expertise at all so I have no idea how the blocking is done. I work in a sattelite office of an enormous company so I would assume it is done from home office.

I never did understand those proxy websites. Let's say I want to view 2+2. If my IT department sees me using a workaround they probably assume I am doing something much worse like buying crack or looking at porn. I would go to some length to regain my computing freedom, but I don't want a reputation before I have really started.
