A-Rod and steroids (nor a rumor/news thread)

Just wondering what made you decide to post this hypothetical scenario. I said (as a non-Yanks fan) I dont think he took them and would be surprised if it came out that he did.

Not a Yankees fan and I'd be pretty damn surprised. He has put up fairly consistent numbers without any really huge jumps in performance from year to year. He also (for what its worth) does not look like he’s juiced.

Alex Rodriguez was projected as a Hall of Famer when he was just 18 years old. I remember reading a Peter Gammons article in the Boston Globe on the weekend after ARod was drafted in 1993 which said ARod was one of the three best prospects of the past twenty years (other two were Griffey Jr. and Strawberry).

I don't think anybody is surprised by ARod's accomplishments to date. Most people expected it from him.

There was a segment on PTI the other day where they talked about how there's very few guys these days that they'd be 100% surprised to find out used steroids. I figured A-Rod was an interesting example.

I voted No and Yes as a Yankees fan.

I don't think arod is on steroids, but I wouldnt be suprised at finding out ANY mlb player tested positive.

That's pretty much my sentiment as well. He's not at the top of the list of guys I'd suspect (and I really have zero reason to suspect him at all, save for his awesome numbers), but I don't think any player would truly surprise me.
