Default Question about Oblivion

So through some serious retardation, I managed to scratch the hell out of my Oblivion (xbox) disc, which I bought yesterday. I bought the Game of the Year edition, which costs $60, rather than than the $30 of the normal game.

So here's my question:

Is there an appreciable gameplay difference between normal and GotY edition? I still have the second disc, so I can presumably play the expansion packs (though I don't know if these would work with the "normal" edition's gameplay disc).

Anyway, should I buy the normal game or splurge and rebuy the game of the year edition?

Once I moved my 360 while it was running naturally it scratched the [censored] out of the disk. I bought one of those things to resurface my disk. They are kind of a pain in the ass to use but work pretty well.

Yo that's exactly what I did too.

Where do I get that/how much does it cost?

I think I purchased it @ gamestop although they might not sell them any more. Ebay would be the cheapest probably.

A lot of stores repair disks. If it's not horribly bad, it is pretty effective. Perhaps you can try that. It is usually a nominal fee... hope it works for you.

Yeah, I dunno about in the US but here you could have it done at a video store with a bit of luck. They usually have a reasonable quality resurfacing machine in the back somewhere, unless it's a smaller store or a chain that sends all of its defective disks somewhere else.
