I think he might check out 2p2 once in a while, not sure though. I really wanted to fold river, but I thought the 1.5:1 ish was probably good enough to justify a call here (he might have a bunch of hands he tries to push me off a chop here). I thought he would probably CR or CF flop with AK, but maybe thats a dumb thought.

Raising the river came to mind, but he'll never fold a king here I think.

You chop with about 1/4-1/2 his range if he plays it in this manner. On the flop, q109 is right in your wheelhouse after cold calling pre.

I always question this last claim. People often say that a 2-broadway type flop hits cold-callers ranges hard, but that really depends on how tight the cold-caller is.

Considering that Strassa thinks folding 99 pre might have been best here, I would guess his range includes a lot more pocket pairs than broadway type hands.

Or not... I don't really know how people play NL live. But online (with 100 BB stacks) I definitely think solid players are way more likely on 88-99 type hands here than QJ or JTs or something.

Just saying...

Default I am villian

i'll comment on the hand later...

couple of things that are relevant to the hand...i am more familiar with jason's game than he realizes. We have played together 3 or 4 times, one of which he remembers (not including once earlier in the week)...i also have read enough 2+2 to have an idea of who he is...

the other thing i owuld point out is that this is the second time jason and i have played in a week - and that he is playing a lot tighter then i have seen him in the past...

8800 in pot. bet is 3500. So...if you call, you're risking $3500 to win $4400. Instead, why not raise to like $7500? Then you're risking $7.5k to win $12.3k. Is this guy ever going to call a river raise to chop on that board?

I actually like folding the best but fold > raise > call imo.

Fold like a cheap suit. If these guys play as reckless as described, you'll have much better opportunities to take their money.

Jason, I think I would fold most of the time in this spot w/o any strong read on the player. AK is a likely holding as well as any Kx combo hands. I don't know how villian views you but your cold call of his reraise shows some strength, so I could even see him check calling KK on this flop sometimes as well as any Kx combo hand looking for pot control.

This is the kind of guy that would call to chop a certain % and also might bluff re-raise a certain percentage and also has AK a certain %, so not totally sure I like this line. But maybe
