I usually refer to them as luckbox idiots. To each his own.

A good player:

changes gears appropriately

Plays the same hands differently based on opponents tendedcies (e.g. raise w/ AJ or fold w/ AJ)

Uses correct frequencies so that play is unpredictable (e.g. pf raise w/ 54s, limp/limp/reraise w/ AA, post flop - raise draw vs call, checkraise bluff vs checkraise, slop play set vs bet out / raise, overbets)

Knows and applies odds and implied odds

Has the guts to trust own reads and act on them

Knows how/when to fold AA postflop

Can induce bluffs

Makes decisions based on long term expectation

Understands and embraces luck as a necessary component of the game and doesn't dwell on bad beats. Takes satisfaction in making the best play despite losing the pot.

Hand Reading

Letting it come to him and not trying to force it.

alot of the time i cbet certain spots and most pple fold too much. But a trait of a good player is to raise in those spots once in a while, when i show weakness. And when i raise alot preflop to start 3betting me light. And when i cbet alot to start raising me light and ofcourse adjust again when i tighten up. Basicly following the flow of the game and adjusting to it.

Or to make great calls. I think i fear pple the most when they can make great calls and great folds. I guess there are winning tags who 12 table and play every hand the standard way, and those are the guys i dont really fear much post flop, but they might be winning players.
