Default 1/2 I try a new line with the minraise for value

2 hands at 1/2- 2 different tables

1st table, I have been very active for 30 mins, aggro in general and nobody has tried to stop me, villain is straightforward TAG

Villain (UTG) 200
Hero (CO) 320

Hero dealt AsKc

villain limps, hero raises to 10, villain calls, everyone else folded

flop: Kd 8h 9c
pot 23
villain checks, hero bets 20, villain calls

turn: 2s
pot 63
check, check

river 3c
pot 63
villain bets 30, hero raises to 60, villain calls

like/dislike anyone think this is standard

Hnad 2
1/2 my image looks like [censored], couple cbets got raised earlier and it looks like i suck to rest of table, ive decided to stop cbetting in position for now unless i hit top pair

villain here has been tight and inactive for a while

Hero (UTG) 200
villain (SB) 200

hero dealt AhKd

hero raises to 8, all folds, sb calls

flop: Ac 7d Kh
pot: 18
sb checks, hero bets 14, sb calls

turn: 9c
pot: 46
sb checks, hero checks

river: 3c
pot: 46
sb bets 15, hero raises to 30, sb calls

Hand 1 looks good.

Hand 2, there's more than $30 of value left here after the flop. Bet bet bet. People don't fold a pair of aces in this spot, at least not until a big river bet hits. You can comfortably fire $25 on the turn and $50ish on the river and get called by AJ. Plus he can easily have a worse aces up.

hand 1 make it 80. youre missing value by only minraising.

hand 2 bet the turn. given you didnt, raise to 50.

there's a time and place for minraising, but these aren't it.

b/c this guy was so tight and passive I felt like betting the turn wud scare him away, i guess sometimes hell have AJ, but in general i think he's just calling me w a mediocre hand b/c i look like the table idiot, so i thought checking the turn and betting the river was most optimal

There's multiple reasons to bet:

Tight guys don't tend to fold when they pair their aces, and they aren't calling you preflop with A4o here. He's probably got AT+, possibly A7-A9 too if they're suited. In any case he isn't folding it on the turn.

Secondly, since all your Cbets have been missing and you've been getting played back at, he can call much lighter because it could easily look like you're sick of not making hands and firing two barrels lightly.

Ok say his range is 30% Ace, 70% pocket pair. Do you really think you're getting more value out of a pocket pair? I really don't see him betting a pair again on a board with two, possibly three overcards.

So you may as well bet the turn to get a call when he does have an ace. Sure he will probably fold his pairs, but you weren't making any more out of them anyway.
