Default Musicians Least Like To Make A Comback?

Difficulty: No Micheal Jackson, no dead guys.

So the other day somebody made a crack about Creed and I thought, "Wow, somebody's still making Creed jokes". Which got me thinking - the only time you ever hear about Creed is as the butt of a joke or in a "worst bands in history" list.

So, is Creed the band least likely to make a comeback? Could anybody possibly ever take them seriously again?

We've seen some unlikely comebacks in the last several years, from Carlos Santana to Johnny Cash to The Dixie Chicks (though the Dixie Chicks really just had to wait for the political climate to shift). Obviously anything's possible but some bands seem completely irredeemable.

A lot rap/rock acts fall into the same category and seem very dated, like Limp Bizkit or Everlast. Could either ever be big again?

And what about Metallica? Are they done? St Anger was their worst selling album ever. Did all the negative publicity from Napster kill their career?

Who else could just never have another big hit, no matter what?

They should have stopped making music over 20 years ago.

He's actually been in the studio with one of the hottest pop producers out right now, will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas. So don't count Jacko out just yet.

milli vanilli, gary glitter are the least likely comebacks. Vanilla ice has pretty much had all the retro-chic he's ever going to get, and the '84 bears are probably even less likely to score a comeback as musicians.

metallica has lost me as a fan who will buy thier new music, forever. I'll still listen to thier pre-black album material, and so will the rest of the world. they'll make a comeback eventually. so will MJ. but latoya is a good answer, although she was never really big anyway.

as a side note, as far as I can tell, the Dixie Chicks didn't really make a comeback, as much as get critical acclaim from people who were not thier market in the first place. Country fans are still made up of people who don't like them. they've kind of become pop successful, but they've got a way to go before they make a "comeback" with thier old fans. that's enough talking about country music, which sucks balls anyway.

musically, Right Said Fred was very big for awhile, but has no chance of making a comeback as far as I can tell.
