NLSoldier,

That sucks. I am actually curious about your strategy though. Why did you bet on elections the way you did? How did you pick what to bet on?

Also, what exactly are they claiming that you did? Were you guys betting on opposite sides of the election, so that in theory you could have been pooling your money in order to split it up after cashout? If not, I don't understand what they are accusing you of.

Thanks,
gm

NLS and MLG,

Do you guys have a cool name for your syndicate ? How can others join?

Oh yeah, you got royally screwed by Bodog. With the exception of taking free [censored] from their WSOP exhibit, I will not have anything to do with them.

OMFG, seriously? Now I feel bad for telling you about it in the first place. What a [censored] ripoff.

I had no problems in the end, I guess because I have a track record there, but my god that is ridiculously lame.

Their election props are clearly loss leader type bets to drive business to the site.

It's not really a loss leader if you simply refuse to payout when you lose.

bosco,
they linked our accounts because we deposited money the same day, and bet on the same elections. We made the bets from two separate computers, and on two separate accounts.

I imagine that we say we because we were treated as one entity by bodog. They told each of us that our accounts would not be reopened until we had both sent in IDs. Then after our accounts were reopened but I was not permitted to withdraw I called and complained and was told that both of our accounts were being closed.

that really sucks - i hope you at least get your 20K back then pursue the rest. my guess is bodog was counting on more people getting seduced by longshot odds instead of everyone taking the odds on favorite for minimal gain. did either of you "refer" the other to bodog?

I referred MLG (over AIM) so that's at least one 'no'.

Strategy was simply to bet on as many of the biggest favorites as possible because the lines are apperently skewed toward the favorites b/c they know ppl will still be dumb enough to bet on the underdogs and then they make the $50 max win rule so that they dont get killed by people betting on favorites.

For example: If you bet on hilary clinton to win the senate seat in NY you had to bet something like 500 to win 50. But in reality she was pretty much a mortal lock and it should have been more like 5000 to win 50.

They are claiming that we were a team whose purpose was to take advantage of these bad lines by setting up mulitple accounts and betting on all the same elections.
