rapid min reraise
I see this move a lot online, where when you put in a bet and somebody doubles your raise before your bet even seems to be completed. It seems to happen so quickly that they don't even have time to react to your intial bet. What does this move typically mean to you all. Is it a way to pump up the pot with legit hand, a bluff, or is a way to quickly and cheaply force me to define my hand. Basically, it seems that if I fold or call I am weak, and if I reraise I'm showing a lot of strength. Your thoughts...

Re: rapid min reraise
The only good answer is an immediate re-minraise. Now who's the tough guy?

Re: rapid min reraise
I am going to assume this is Limit since this would be fairly dangerous in NL.
I think you need to see his cards a few times and/or assess when he is doing this before figuring out what it means. It could mean anything from hyper-aggression to having a good hand to a bluff to having a draw to reading you as a weak player. So get some more info. Does it only happen against you or also against others? Only when heads up or in multiways as well? Only in position? With what kinds of hands? Or he simply could be throwing it in every once and awhile to throw people off. Why don't you try it and see what happens? Even better, try it against him. |

I am going to assume this is Limit since this would be fairly dangerous in NL. [/ QUOTE ] Im sure hes refering to NL... I don't know why he would call the raise a min-raise if it was limit. This does happen a lot; insta-min raise. Its usually done by the weaker players; and as we know, weak players are really hard to put on a hand. As for the question you have; I honestly don't really know what it means; it can mean a lot of things; weak players will do this for different reasons, one being raising really fast will somehow make you think he has something that doesn't even require him to question a raise (making you think hes strong); whether he is strong or not... |

Re: rapid min reraise
NL small stakes online. Usually happens on the flop after following up a preflop raise.
