Meh, trying to project the BCS rankings early is pretty pointless IMO. The key for Oregon and LSU from here on out is there remaining schedules; you can't really peg them down yet.

As for ranking a Top 25 on merit, I can't get past #15 until the Cal/WSU game goes final.

Okay, this is really starting to get interesting now with BC and ASU out of it. Who can win out and who will be left out? The title matchup will almost certainly come from these teams. Here's the order of priority if they win out IMO.

OSU (obviously)
Kansas (won't be denied if they beat Missouri and OU)
LSU (will be v. close with Oregon)
Oregon (11-1 looking inevitable)
Oklahoma (need help)
Missouri (beating KU and OU would put them ahead of WVU)
WVU (need a miracle a la LSU '03)

Yeah, I've been thinking a lot about that ordering lately and you've got it absolutely right Austiger. I still think Arizona State has a little bit of a chance if they win out, but you've certainly got the general idea.

And now that WSU's snuffed out, here's my Top 32:

1. Ohio State
2. LSU
3. Oregon
4. Oklahoma
5. West Virginia
6. Kansas (lost in the win over Nebraska is that their defense gave up 39, they still seem a little flaky to me)
7. Missouri
8. Arizona State
9. Boston College (the win at Va. Tech's still good, they deserve a Top 10 spot for now)
10. Auburn
11. Florida
12. USC
13. Connecticut
14. Georgia
15. Virginia Tech
16. California
17. Kentucky
18. Michigan
19. Cincinnatti
20. South Florida
21. Texas
22. Clemson
23. Alabama

25. Arkansas
26. Boise State
27. Florida State
28. Penn State

31. Hawaii
32. BYU

Yeah, once you get down to ASU you have to start thinking about OSU and Kansas again if they finish with one loss. I just hope it isn't clear-cut so that the BCS controversy reappears.

Why is everyone ranking West Virginia over Missouri? The only top 25 team they have beaten is Rutgers (ranked 25 at the time). The Mountaineers' one loss to South Florida is not looking as good now.

Missouri has crushed two teams that were ranked in the top 25 when they played (Texas Tech and Nebraska). They also dropped a 55-10 bomb on Colorado who defeated Oklahoma and came close versus Kansas. All three of those games were at Boulder. Mizzou's only loss came in Norman to Oklahoma in a game they were leading heading into the fourth quarter.

I think it's close between ASU and Missouri, but I'm working off the "what's happened most recently bias". Plus, I'm a Mizzou homer.

Bearing this in mind, here are my rankings.

1. Ohio State
2. LSU
3. Oregon
4. Oklahoma
5 Kansas
6. Missouri
7. Arizona State
8. BC
9. West Virginia
10. Georgia
11. Virginia Tech
12. Michigan

Edited to switch Oregon and LSU.
