Default Chips Suggestion?

Hey
I am looking for a chip set in the $200-$250 range.
Not the cheap ones that are $100 and not the $400-$500 ones.

Any ideas?

Thanks all,

jw

You won't be sorry. I've had a set of the actual Nevada Jacks with the skulls and they felt and looked great but I wasn't a fan of the skulls. I sold them and bought a set of the Desert Sands. I'm tell you, you'll be shocked how nice they are. Everyone who comes to my game for the first time always compliments the chips. They hold up great too.

Also, there are often alot of these chips in new unused sets on Ebay from time to time.

I have Nevada Jacks and I hate them.

They feel and look beautiful in the case or on the table....

But I hate them because...

1. They have the same colour edge spots.
2. They all have the same design (skulls).

If they are the same except for the background colour ring people confuse the denominations.

Who is so stupid that they can't tell the denominations?

Me in particular, I can't tell the blue $1 chips from the black $100 chips... Make that mistake just once....

Some of my friends can't tell the green from the blue chips....

If I were buying chips from these people again. I'd buy my $1 chips as skulls, my $5 chips as Desert Sands, my $25 chips as ... well you get the idea...

I suggest you buy some Nexgen chips. They look and feel nice, plus they are a little cheaper than these other suggestions, so you can buy more chips.

I like my Nexgen 8000s. You can catch em for less than $200 for a 1000 of 'em. They're great for labels as well.

The chips in this link are available as a blank chip (no sticker) for .30 per chip with edge spot, and .19 per chip as a solid. Best deal going right now that I have seen. I have 300 of these that i got to mess around with and they are real compression chips (not plastic slugs like dice chips and not ceramic like nevada jacks), just made in China for the cheaper cost. You have to call direct to get the blank chips though, they dont advertise them except on chiptalk.net .

I also have a set of desert sands (by nevada jacks), which i love and would also recommend, they are just 3 times the cost retail.

grebe, is that the correct link? They are 25 chips for $17.25, which is .69 per chip. (If I'm doing my math correctly, which is always questionable.) Or is there a non-sticker price somewhere?

That is 69 cents for a custom laminated label on the chips mentioned. Contact directly if you want blanks.
