Re: Worst $10-million baseball player
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] kevin brown 2004 [/ QUOTE ] Didn't he have a decent season in 2004, up until he punched the clubhouse wall and broke his hand? [/ QUOTE ] Didnt Kevin Brown suck every year that wasnt a contract year? I am not sure about this, but it seemed like he was only good the last year of every contract he signed. |

Re: Worst $10-million baseball player
He had 6 straight years in the late 90s/early 2000's in which his ERA was 3 or below, pretty much the definition of non-suckage.

[ QUOTE ]
How about Jason Kendall? no homers as an A. [/ QUOTE ] The Athletics pay half of his salary or something, so no. It's either Chan Ho Park, Darren Dreifort, or Bobby Higginson. Dreifort is probably the worst considering he didn't even play. |

Re: Worst $10-million baseball player
his starting even though he knew his back was hurt against the red sox alcs game 7 is enough to make his contract not worth a single dime we paid

If he really was hurt that badly, that goes entirely on Joe Torre. (cf. Pedro in the 8th inning of Game 7 in 2003) Then again, Torre didn't have too many other options -- it's not as if Javy Vazquez was any better. Maybe the only other option was Esteban Loaiza (and this is a big stretch, since he'd pitched 2 or 3 innings of relief in Game 5). |

I see no mentions of mike hampton on denny naegle yet, did they make 10mil? [/ QUOTE ] I was going to post Hampton, but he looks like Cy Young compared to Chan Ho. Plus he's had injury problems over the past few years and pitched in Colorado which ruined him. |
