How about Jason Kendall? no homers as an A. [/ QUOTE ] The Athletics pay half of his salary or something, so no. It's either Chan Ho Park, Darren Dreifort, or Bobby Higginson. Dreifort is probably the worst considering he didn't even play.

If he really was hurt that badly, that goes entirely on Joe Torre. (cf. Pedro in the 8th inning of Game 7 in 2003) Then again, Torre didn't have too many other options -- it's not as if Javy Vazquez was any better. Maybe the only other option was Esteban Loaiza (and this is a big stretch, since he'd pitched 2 or 3 innings of relief in Game 5).
