While were on the subject of Francona. Him leaving Varitek in too catch for Wakefield despite the fact he clearly couldn't handle the knuckler. The Red Sox almost lost that game on passed balls.

Didnt Dusty Baker take out Russ Ortiz in game six of the world series, took the ball from him, then called Ortiz back and gave him the ball? And after that didn't the Angels take the lead and never look back?
