Default Re: College Football Rank \'em --- Week 8

Big week coming up. Every team in the BCS top 11 is playing a game they can lose except LSU. They have a bye.

#1 Ohio State (-3.5) at #25 Penn State
#2 Boston College at #8 Virgina Tech (-3)
#21 California at #4 Arizona State (-3)
#12 Southern California at #5 Oregon (-3)
#7 West Virgina (-6.5) at Rutgers
#9 Kansas (-2.5) at Texas A&M
#10 South Florida (-4.5) at #23 Conneticut
#11 Florida at #18 Georgia (off)

Florida will be favored by what, 5? Why isn't this game in Jacksonville any more?

The expectation has to be that two of the top five will lose AGAIN!!!

If the Sagarin Predictor means anything Vtech is wildly overrated, as is BC, but they (BC) won't lose.

I don't think Ohio State loses either but I don't know I haven't watched entirely enough football from either team to make a guranteed prediction.

So I guess if two teams do lose its going to be Oregon and ASU. I don't think it will hurt the Pac 10 as both Cal and USC will move further up and ASU and Oregon won't drop that much.

This week is going to be crazy I can't wait. I'm going to have to make an effort to stay sober after the USC game to watch the evening games

LMFAO @ Auburn. Seriously, moving a team up 5 spots after a loss is downright laughable. If you want to leave them in the top 25, fine by me. I think they are a good team, but #12 is funny. Bama is a top 27 team also. USC should drop more IMO too, they lost to an unranked team. Uconn #19 is also a stretch.

i almost put alabama in there but saw they lost to florida state. i had florida state ranked last week but dropped them after today's loss to miami. bama deserves to be in there.

auburn at 12 isn't laughable.

they go to florida and win !!!

they go to LSU and ALMOST win !!!

they lose a squeaker to S florida

they go to Arkansas and win

they route vandy

they beat a semi-decent kansas state

Hmm, that would be 7 of their games. If that was their whole schedule, I don't think anyone would have a problem with them in the Top 12. However, there's also that pesky loss to 4-4 Mississippi State. I agree that they shouldn't be punished too much though. They were a different team early in the year and especially during the "bench Brandon Cox" experiment.

I think their results the last few weeks show they're clearly a Top 20 team. I decided not to drop them at all this week, and left them in the same #16 spot where I had them last week.

They also lost to Miss St. I realize that was somewhat of a fluke (ie, MSU isn't better than them) but at this point in the year I can't justify putting a team with 3 losses that high unless they lost top 3 top 5 teams and have wins over a couple of top 10 teams.

Actually, on further review, I think I should switch Oklahoma and BC. I mean being tied 7-7 in the 4th with Iowa State is really bad. This is the same team that lost to Toledo, Kent State, and Northern Iowa and lost by 55 to Texas just last week. BC's win over GT is way better than anything Oklahoma's done on the road this year.

Michigan is not worse than 6 SEC teams. They had 2 terrible games while their young defense started the season. At this point, with Hart and Henne healthy, which it appears they will be by the time they need them, it's pretty terrible having them at 22.
