Default The Pill...

Anyone got some insight or experience with mood swings a woman gets after starting to take these pills? It's been over a month she's on these things, she 2 weeks from her period but is just as bitchy (maybe even more-so) as if she was PMSing. She's told me she thinks the pills are making her crabby, I was starting to just think she was just a bitch. I recall her being much more stable before taking these things.

I'm wondering if this is something I will always have to deal with.

i know I have to be careful on the pill because of my depression. She's probably ovulating now and her hormones could be going crazy. it does take a few months for your body to adjust. If she continues to have problems (it doesnt cure PMS btw, so if she had it before...she might still have it) she should talk to her doctor.

keep in mind, there isn't just one pill. if the prescription she's currently on is causing problems she can ask her Doctor if it's possible to a different type.

If she's on a particularly high dose pill, it might affect her more. GT has the right idea, she should switch if she still has symptoms three months in. When I first started, I had very emotional mood swings that I had never had before. There is a period of adjustment, but she should be okay after a while.

If dealing with crabbiness is a big deal, think how crabby you guys will be having to wake up to one of these

we tried depo too and it was fine except she wasn't comfortable with not having her period for extended times, something about being "clogged".... probably a girl thing?
