Don't show hands to good players because it helps them read you.
Don't show hands to bad players because they'll pay just to see what you have and might be more inclined to fold if they think they might get closure for free.

[/ QUOTE ]

One person already did give a serious answer, and I think a pretty good one too.

So, you guys get these kinds of threads too. And I guess this forum follows my rule as well (presented in the linked thread).

I was just wondering what the general consensus is for showing your cards in Limit hold'em when you have a monster and some donkey sucks out on the river and/or plays cards he shouldn't and flops lucky.

Do most people show their cards, to let the donkey know how lucky they were, and how when you raise preflop, you have a hand? Or do most people not show and let the donkey think they're playing winning poker?

[/ QUOTE ]

Next hand, move on, on a suck out. Its just part of making a living.

I like to show my cards when I lose, so that the other players think I am a moron, especially when I play a hand like an idiot. Otherwise, I never show, ever.

Stand up and eat one of the cards.

[/ QUOTE ]

The only time I was ever sent home (barred for 24 hours) from CAZ was for biting my cards in half. I'd had my flopped set of Kings beaten in a ridiculous way. Even so, I would've just mucked them if the guy who beat me hadn't started laughing, giggling and needling me. That wouldn't bother me now but it did then. As the cards were headed to my mouth the dealer said not to do it but I did. Floorman sent me home and I tipped him $5 for his trouble. Actually, he did me a favor because I was on mega-tilt right then and he sent me home $800 winner.

Someone around here ought to give OP a serious answer, though. He's got to be wondering what is going on.

What the **** is happening to medium stakes?

[/ QUOTE ]

Every time I think to myself that the quality of threads can't get any worse I get proved wrong.

[/ QUOTE ]

Maybe it's my fault. Do I suck as a mod?

This would be a good time to ask people if there's anything I can do to improve things. I actually disagree that MSLHE sucks; it seems like pretty awesome strat talk to me, but then again I am biased.

So let me know how I'm doing and what can be improved, and if you don't feel comfortable posting it, please PM me.

Lock this thread. Everyone's flaming a new guy, and in turn flaming other inexperienced players.

No, you shouldn't show.
