Baby Steps: 55
since playalongs are all the rage these days, as far as i can remember i've yet to exert the time/energy to do one, and i'm sort of bored let's give it a go.
MPlimper is sort of loose pf, knows to raise good hands pf, and can do some bluffing/semibluffing postflop. his stats are like 38/9/1.5. the blinds are both tight passive, as is the button. folds to MP2 who limps, folds to me in the CO with 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and i... |

Re: Baby Steps: 55
I raise here. Hopefully gain the button, knock out the blinds. Taking iniative here will make the pot bigger and allow MP2 to make mistakes (folding when he should call mainly) later in the hand.

Re: Baby Steps: 55
I would raise it, but it's borderline with 55.

Re: Baby Steps: 55
Ha, I probably fold since there ain't enough players in the pot and I'm such a bad poker player I'd butcher this hand unless I flopped the set.
But if I felt confident and decided to play it, I'd raise to chase out the button and blinds, and then aggresively bet as if I was playing AA until the limper indicates that he might have me beat. This is where I'd start getting into a little bit of trouble due to my noobiness and is why I'd consider mucking it preflop... |

Re: Baby Steps: 55
I'd fold, calling is a definite no no, and to raise i would want 77+

Re: Baby Steps: 55
Raising is slightly better than calling. Folding is absolutely out of the question. If he was more straightforward postflop it's an easy easy raise.

Re: Baby Steps: 55
Against a tighter MP limper I like a raise. Against someone who's capable of bluffing and semi-bluffing, I don't mind a limp here. I'd like it better with one more person in the pot though.
