Re: Complaits about cards
I misread the board on my bustout hand. It was awesome. I had 56 and thought the 974 flop was 764. I still don't know when I forgot how to hit open-enders though.

It is also much harder to tell clubs and spades apart from a distance. |

Re: Complaits about cards
I just got back from the Rio where I played for a while. These cards were a disaster, especially the 6's and 9's which you have to check the pips.
At about 3:30pm, a new deck was brought to my cash game. They were cards from the 2006 WSOP. In my media package I picked up today, it says "WSOP participants will enjoy a new Official Tournament Playing card from The U.S. Playing Card Company. In another first for the WSOP, every day every table of every bracelet event will start with a new setup of cards made of USPC's KEM stock, widely considered the finest playing-card stock in the world." The cards were universally hated by the players. I'm seriously wondering if Harrah's purchased tens of thousands of these decks and are going to end up trashing them all without using them after today. |

Re: Complaits about cards
Yeah, I'm not trying to be a nit at all. It's weird because I misread the board once really early on and I promised myself that I'd be really careful about it. Then the hand came up and on the turn I suddenly realized that I was only drawing to 8 outs. And, yeah, it's nearly impossible to count the pips from any reasonable distance. Whatev, it's still totally my fault but I don't blame other people for being upset. They announced, pretty early in the day, that the cards would be scrapped for future tournaments and we'd be back to normal Kem cards.
