Default Firefly

I just finished watching these DVD's and it left me with an overwhelming sense of sadness. I had watched Serenity a year or so ago and wasn't particularly impressed so it took me a while to get around to watching the tv show. I immediately loved all the characters and the story, and seeing it get cut off so abruptly knowing that it has no chance of ever coming back (it's been what, 5 years?) was depressing. I can't believe it diden't even make it through half a season.

yeah, the show was incredibly awesome. I felt the same sadness (I just watched them for the first time a couple months ago).

Also reading all the fan support and everything that went on in trying to get the show back and the eventual movie made was pretty incredible.

I saw the movie 1st, and just started the only season.
Great show, no doubt.

yeah honestly I wouldn't think I'd be into a futuristic Western, but it was extremely well done. I also got emo as I popped in the final disc.

For those of you who watched the movie first, what was your initial impression of the movie? Good/bad/mediocre?

I did the smart thing and watched the TV series first and I think that made me appreciate what they did with the movie a bit more.

Like usual it was advertised and handled horribly by tv. It should still be airing new ep's today .

wait, I'm kind of confused. I thought the "movie" was just the first 2 hours of the series.

I watched the movie first, and my intial impression was "pretty good".
I knew it was from a TV series, but I didn't have a clue what to expect.
The western sci-fi thing works really good in an updated Hans Solo kind of way.
I'm only 2 episodes into the TV seasons, but they already seem better than the movie.
