Default B&M Carpooling Thread

Ok, I am going to start this thread off. I have primarily been an online player. I think I am going to need to change my current focus.

I currently live in the Valencia area an am looking to find ridesharing to some of the LA area card clubs. I am fine to share rides with dealers or floor as I don't necessarily want to do this more than 8-12 hours a day. PM me if you are interested. I would also be willing to go out to Diamond Jim's in Rosemont. I am not willing to do Morongo or Chumash on a daily basis as this is about an hour farther each way than the LA card clubs.

Thanks

It has been my experience that you really do not want to rely on somebody else's schedule while playing poker.

Ever had a series of second nuts in a row? It gets expensive quick....now you only have 8 hrs to go.

The other side of the coin is that you are on the most amazing rush in your life, you consistantly hit gutshots and two outers with ease... now its time to go. oh noooooooooo.

Drive yourself if at all possible.

If you can't afford to drive yourself then you can't afford to play. If you have a medical condition that prevents you from securing your own transportation then that's another story. Otherwise, buy a reliable car, burn some CD's or get an iPod and hit the road.

I dont think you have lived in Los Angeles.

1. 30 Mile car rides can turn in 90 minute commutes almost any time of the day. A majority of LA Freeways have carpool lanes so commuting helps on time travel.

2. Since this will add 2 unproductive hours to my day versus internet poker, by carpooling I can move some of my sleep to the carpool. Did this for 7 years when commuting from Denver to Colorado Springs.

3. Its better for the enviornment.

I've lived in LA for 40+ years. Carpool lanes are worthless during rush hours from Valencia to any local casino. During non rush hours you may as well drive alone. Also, almost no carpool lanes from there to any of the casino's to the south (and majority of LA freeways do NOT have carpool lanes).
