Re: Bottom Set and Nut Straight Draw??
[ QUOTE ]
I put him on the straight, and if that's what he holds then I'm ahead. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, not to mention that he could have a hand that you are way ahead such as a gutter + nfd, JKA without diamonds, two pair and straight draw, even bare top two. Getting it in here is very standard |

Re: Bottom Set and Nut Straight Draw??
Nice hand. A lot of people make the mistake of playing passively in this kind of spot since they "know they're against a straight".
However, even if that's the case, a straight can't improve here and our improvement is fairly obvious so we still lose a ton of equity by just calling. This is a much different situation than having a draw against a set where the set can hit "kill cards" that make your hand worthless. |

Re: Bottom Set and Nut Straight Draw??
At first I thought, wtf wow he's overplaying bottom set. Then I noticed the KJ as well, and then it's really okay, even if he has J9. Suck if he has clubs, but you still have good equity. Good hand
