Default 5/10 - QQ - deep

No special reads on villian. He doubled up the first hand, flopped str8 vs twopair.

Stacks: $1800

I raises UTG with QQ, villian calls UTG+1, btn calls, and bb makes it $200, Hero and villian calls.

Flop: 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
bb checks, I bet $400, villian calls, bb folds. (Should I check flop?)

Turn: 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Hero?

I have a few problems with these wa/wb situations deep and oop as well. I would probably check and call a small bet/fold to a big bet, with a plan to re-evaluate any river.

your action depends on what you put his range at. You saw the cards/action of his first hand. That isn't much, but that's all you have. If it was a broadwayish straight, then I put qq way ahead here. If it was more wheelish, then you might be flipping to way behind. Was he really aggro in the first hand before he got his straight? How fast did he call your flop bet here? I'd say he's got something like AhKh, Ah7h, 99+. Maybe even some off AK that he floated your flop bet with? (I'm not a 5/10nl reg, but I wouldn't think that people would get into a 3b pot with something like 55.)

edit: I think we are ahead.

looks like there's 1400 in pot, 1200 left. Too shallow to c/c modest bet planning to fold river. And I dont want to fold to his turn bet if I check, dont want to let him draw to flush or straight if he's donkish in there with his 65 or whatever. So, I'll push the turn.

Again, with read of him being nit who loves to see a flop with pairs, I could c/f, but here get it in.

Stick it in. Big pot, lots of draws, didn't raise flop and so on.
