Set mine w/ 88 in position?
Here's a common situation I'm unsure how to handle. Villain is 17/14/3.25 over 230 hands. I haven't noticed whether he 3-bets light or not, but I've been opening a lot preflop.
Do you set mine here? Full Tilt Poker, $0.50/$1 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 5 Players LeggoPoker Hand History Converter Hero (CO): $99.50 BTN: $136.10 SB: $193.85 BB: $74.40 UTG: $129.60 Pre-Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (CO) UTG folds, Hero raises to $3.50, BTN folds, SB raises to $12, BB folds, Hero ???? |

Re: Set mine w/ 88 in position?
you can play on some flops where you don't hit sets too

you can play on some flops where you don't hit sets too [/ QUOTE ] so I guess you're gonna float good flops? Which ones are good for floating? |

[/ QUOTE ] I have no read on his 3-bet so I assume his range is weighted towards higher pairs (ok assumption?). So in my mind, it would be a float to see if he shuts down on the turn. Anyway, you know what I mean and this isn't a forum to argue semantics. |

Re: Set mine w/ 88 in position?
It depends entirely on your ability to play postflop.

Re: Set mine w/ 88 in position?
I call this 80% of the time. Then just play your game. seems std to me. his AF seems a little high, but meh. don't go nuts. don't call just for set mining though.
