a pot control+value line against a 2p2er.
Villain is a TAGgish 2p2er, perhaps a bit tighter than most of yall, but not nitty by any means. We've got a colorful history, usually ending in me getting the best of it (but not always by the most skillful of ways).
He knows i'm solid and capable of many different things. Full Tilt Poker No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $2/$4 5 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $957.70 CO: $451 Hero: $422.50 SB: $366.50 BB: $1579.90 Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2 folds, Hero raises to $14, SB folds, BB calls. Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($30, 2 players) BB checks, Hero checks. Turn: 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($30, 2 players) BB bets $20, Hero raises to $60 The plan: -If reraised, def folding. -If called and checked to on river, def checking behind unless its a clean K or J. -If called and bet at, then folding, calling, and raising are all options depending on the card and the bet, but most likely folding. thoughts? |

Re: a pot control+value line against a 2p2er.
Seems ok, although he could have an ace. Why not just c-bet the flop, which essentially accomplishes the same thing, unless you are going to bluff river big.

Re: a pot control+value line against a 2p2er.
Generally, not keen. This type of "cheap showdown" play is something I know I underuse though.
If you just call then there is a pot of $70 and you have bet $40 less, so it's not great at getting a showndown especially cheap. Also, you aren't likely to fold out much. It must look to him that you have a real strong hand or most likely not much. It will quite often stop him value-betting the river with a slightly better hand, but does give him the chance to stop you getting a showndown with a worse hand if he is brave. |

This looks horrible to me. So horrible. So very, very horrible.

Re: a pot control+value line against a 2p2er.
If it was a pot-control line, you'd call the turn, then call the river. As is, I feel it's a spew line - and you will get re-bluffed here a lot since he knows you don't have a monster (unless you have 34).

Re: a pot control+value line against a 2p2er.
Does he fold more hands to the $60 than he does to a $20 flop cBet?
How do you play non-blank turns like hearts or broadway cards? |

Re: a pot control+value line against a 2p2er.
I don't like the turn play against a good opponent. I just can't see you ever trickyng it up like this with a monster, so if he is brave he should push you off. And I can see him doing that. I don't think a flop check is terrible. But I think a small turn raise on that is too transparent.

Re: a pot control+value line against a 2p2er.
I used to do this but my new line is to just call here and fold non K or J rivers. Its usually not a 2 barrel turn/river bluff (its usually an ace getting value).
Obv. bet the river if checked to. |
