Good chance he has air/straight draw, and a lot turn cards can make you make a mistake (solid reasoning, I know). If he has a set/overpair, nh.

I really like folding here. It's a tough spot no doubt about it. I think other posters are right. If you didn't have a plan for him 3 betting you should call the flop bet. I don't really see what you are beating here.

i bet/3bet overs here a lot vs ppl that frequently raise my donk bets (most tags these days do). My above advice only fits if hero frequently raises donkbets. If not, its an obvoius fold.

this is a spot where i love calling with TPTK, i.e., not raising the flop.

Villian raises 18% preflop. Barring some unpredictable trickiness (reads?), he repops preflop with mosts overpairs to this board. His holdings are drawy, light and funky often enough to call profitably here, reevaluating on 4th, and shoving on many blanks
