Default Equation or Tree Diagram?

From a group of 6 men and 4 women, how many committees of 2 men and 3 women can be formed?

I think the answer is 60. Is there an equation or do you have to use a tree diagram for this?

60 is correct. (6 choose 2)*(4 choose 3) gives you the answer you're looking for (where n choose m = n!/(m!(n-m)!)).

6c2*4c3 = 60 .

There are 6c2 ways to select 2 men from 6 . Multiply this number by 4c3 since we must select 3 women from 4 .
