I still feel like they were the best team to not win a superbowl.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think this honor falls to the Cowboys team that blew the 4-peat by fumbling away their chances in SF in the first quarter.

High: T-Mac's 13 points in 35 seconds against a team that owned the Rockets to win the game by 1 point.

Low: Sox coming back from 3-0 to beat Yanks in ALCS in 2004.

that was the best team in 1999, how did they lose to the Titans 3 times?

[/ QUOTE ]

"lol"

[/ QUOTE ]

You think the Rams were better? Thats fine, but I don't think the Rams had much of a chance vs Jacksonville that year. That was one hell of a roster, and I still feel like they were the best team to not win a superbowl.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, the Rams were better than them too. The Rams were the best team in football that year. But, my "lol" was at your idea that the team that beat them 3x was somehow worse than them.

[/ QUOTE ]

To follow up, Tenn beat them 20-19 @Jax, 41-14 @Tenn, then 33-14 @Jax in the playoffs.

Saddest are easy:
1. Foul on Auggie, wrinse, repeat.
2. Safe at first?!?

Happiest:
1. Taking Grandma to the clinching World Series game last year.
2. Dad taking me to clinching World Series game in 1982
3. Taking Dad to Game 3 last year.
4. Utah, Game 6, God for the 2nd 3-peat.

The Best would be Man city coming back from two nil down in the last ten minuets of the division two play off final to force extra time and penalties, which they went on to win, gaining promotion after two seasons of back to back relegation.

Worst would be England vs. Holland in Rotterdam qualifying match for the 1994 world cup in the USA.
In the space of five minuets we were well and truly robbed.
First David Platt broke through on the Dutch goal with only the keeper to beat only to be tugged down from behind by Ronald Kooman.
“Penalty” every one cried and then “red card” the new rule that a foul that denied a player a goal scoring opportunity was a red card had just come into play.
The referee gave a free kick and a yellow card. Paul Merson hit the bar from the free kick.
All told England hit the woodwork four times from free kicks that game.
A couple of minuets latter and Holland have a free kick just on the edge of the box Ronald Kooman who should of been sent off steps up, as one of the best free kick takers ever he has the crowd on the edge of their seats, He skies in well over great but no the reff orders it retaken. This time Seaman moves further to his left leaving the right of the goal open I said “his going to chip it” Motty said “his going to chip it” Kooman does chip it and its one nil to Holland.
The Dutch go on to score a second and England are left hopping for other results to go their way they didn’t.
For some reason I had taped the match and ended up watching it about three times I just couldn’t believe we had lost.

1. It was against the Jets.
2. It was 96 yards
3. Hearst had run 19 times for 91 yards and 1 TD before breaking the big TD. He had not been shut down the entire game.

[/ QUOTE ]

4. It was the first play of overtime, not the 4th quarter.
5. It was not a Monday night game.

But I'm pretty sure that wasn't the play the OP was referring to. The Niners did play the Giants on MNF later that season, and Hearst did cement the win and the cover (the spread was actually SF -13, maybe had it teased?) with a 4th quarter 70-yard TD to make the score 31-7.

Happiest

2nd happiest, biggest miracle win

Saddest - Tom Hutton botched hold on Monday night football Eagles vs Cowboys in 1997. There have been many worse losses in more important games, but nothing tortured me the way that game did. The image of Barry Switzer and his [censored] eating grin dancing around all gleefully is still firmly etched in my mind.

Hearst busted through for a 99 yard TD after getting shut down the entire game. Awesome play, and personally one of my favorites as a 49ers fan. They did a "Top MNF football moments" the first week either for the Thursday game or before the Monday double header and I think this was #1. Probably the closest thing to a walkoff you can get in football

Wrong game. The one you are referencing was not a Monday nighter. It was opening day 98, I was there. The Hearst run was in overtime.
