Re: 2/4 NL weird bets scare me
hand 1: raise $60 for free SD
hand 2: fold, if he's on tilt, you can get him in a better situation |

Re: 2/4 NL weird bets scare me
Hand 1: I personally fold the flop. There's a good chance that he's just trying to take the pot down with A of diamonds, and drawing to the second best one card flush is always a bad idea. I don't mind getting a little frisky and raising here, but I wouldn't just call.
As played, I call the turn and re-evaluate river. He makes a real bet on the flop but then donks the turn? He might be doing it on purpose with a huge hand hoping you'll pop with a semi-made hand, or he may be trying to price his draw. I'd let him price his draw if that's what he's doing. Hand 2: This guy has no idea what you have, so it's not like he might have hit a set or two pair and is trying to pretend he has a flush draw to get an overpair to put money in the pot. So I call. But the pot is so small and you've put so little in that I don't mind a fold. |

Raise to 50 in hand 1, call hand 2.

Re: 2/4 NL weird bets scare me
I usually treat min/small bets like checks and do whatever I would do if checked to. I would always bet this turn when checked to, so I'd raise here to something like 60-80. If he played back though I'd probably fold (small lead/3-bet is much stronger than c/r in my experience).
Timing on the second hand is pretty important, but I would usually call here. In addition to lots of combo draws against which you are roughly a coin flip, I think you're occassionally way ahead and almost never way behind. |
