LC: online MTTs, action-style

Hi, pokah is cool.

After being out of it for two months straight finishing my Master's thesis, I FT 3 out of 6 MTTs Friday and Yesterday.

Yesterday was crazy:
* Played in OnGame's $150 $50kg, with 30-something left I have a huge chip lead. Top 5 in Party's Saturday $300 Special with 40 left.
* Intarweb goes down. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck.
* Wait for 5 mins, discover it's the local central that's down. OMFGJESUSCHRISTFREAKOUT!
* Run to my parents, get attacked by vicious sea gull. Chases me for half a mile. Goddamn [censored] birds.
* Get to my parents, completely out of breath. Discover the net is down there as well.
* Run back, get in the car and drive to work (why the [censored] didn't I do this the first time?).
* On the way, gf calls and asks if I'm missing my wallet. Apparently, I lost it when it fell from my bag as I tried to shoo the insane bird away. Very nice guy returned it with nothing missing.
* Get to work, log on and see I'm 10th out of 18 remaining with about 7 BBs (oh yes, what a fine structure) in the OnGame MTT, 21st out of 23rd in the Party one. I was away for about half an hour.
* Gambool vs biggie in Party and lose [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]
* $50kg: Pushbot like crazy, suck out once, get to FT as 4th.
* At start of FT, laptop's battery donks out. Jeeeeesus, totally forgot about that. Run like mad to my actual workplace where I have a power adapter.
* 1 min later, get back, 4 left. All 4 short stacks went out while I was gone.
* Fellow short stack pushes in, gets called by huuuuuge CL. Shorty has AQ, CL has A3, A3 wins obv.
* Go out in 3rd for $6k w A5 vs CL's 77. HU over 20 secs later when CL hits a straight vs villain's air. FT lasted 4 mins.

Something similar - though less spectacular - happened to me recently. After that I bought a 56K modem, since the telephone line still worked when the DSL went down; so I am having a plan B for these situations now.

The sea gulls go batshit insane when they have their young, for a period about a month they attack everything that moves within 50 yards of their kids. This wouldn't be a problem if they stayed in their natural habitat (by the sea), but they're going inland due to all the easy food available...Worst part is, I got attacked by the same bird earlier that day, haha. He obviously had it in for me.

And yeah, I am soooooooooooooo getting a backup line now, been thinking about doing it for a while.
