soak-in time for songs you like

Most songs that I really love, I like them after hearing them for the 1st time and like them more and more every time I hear them.

Others (most), I find something catchy about them or good enough not to switch the radio station or whatever and over a few listens, I find myself humming along. For this category, I would say this happens over 5 or so listens.

It's rare, but once in a while, there's the song I outright dislike or I'm ambivalent about and I hear it over and over, or they're placed just right in some movie/commercial or something, and I'm turned into a believer.

How many listens usually does it take for you to become a fan of a song?

Depends. I usually find that the songs that have to grow on me aren't spectacularrrrrrrrr, just pretty good.

Slightly OT, but it took like 10 full listens to the new TOOL album for me to like it.
