Default 3/6 - 1010 vs TAG

Villain in this hand is 20/11/2.5 over 730 hands.

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (8 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, SB calls, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>.

Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">SB bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, SB calls.

Turn: A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
SB checks, Hero checks.

River: 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>

So how bad did i play this one?

My intentions were to fold if 3bet on the flop... However im totally lost on how to play the turn and river...

Hi,

if SB bets the flop when seeing the A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] i would have folded.
To my estimation it is not worth the risk to go any further here to turn and river with TT.

I'd consider smoothcalling the flop and folding if he leads the turn again. Might need a read for that line, though.

And bet/fold the turn if he doesn't lead.

I like the way you played this one. Given villain's stats I'm assuming he's decent. IMO if he's holding an ace and decides to play he very well might 3-bet your first-in mp2 raise. Your flop raise is pretty standard, and I think villain is holding something other than an ace at least 1 out of 6 times, which are the odds you need to call on the river. If he bet into you again on the turn, however, you'd have to fold. But that's why you invested an extra half BB on the flop, to get to the river for free if desired.

Well if you're going to raise the flop the turn is a very easy bet.

From your raise to showdown you have got 4.5/2 pot odds. Im not sure there is enough of an edge to make this a profitable play and with the luxury of time to mull it over would probabaly fold it on the flop. However in the heat of battle I would most likely play it exactly the same way as you!

I actually don\\\'t mind the way you played the hand. I like to get to showdown against players with the types of stats you gave because sometimes they will often bet this flop with middle pair to see where they are.

Another, maybe a better option, is to bet the turn with the intention of checking behind on the river for a free showdown. However, I don\\\'t think it\\\'s much of a mistake to take the line you did, as the villain won\\\'t usually have more than 5 or 6 outs against you. Also, playing the way you did, you keep yourself from being played off of the best hand.

I think a TAG would have c/raised this flop with an A.
I think he's betting a middle pair to find out where he's at.
So, if you don't mind giving him a free card, then check behind on the turn and call his river bet.

If you do mind, bet the turn again. Although it would suck to get c/r on this turn.
