Why isn\'t it considered good to play loose in the early stages...
If everyone is playing tight, isn't this the right time to play loose and gather chips for the long run, and tighten up as you go? I understand the blinds get bigger, but if you have enough chips from the earlier stages you can afford to wait for a good hand.

Who told you to play tight? They lied to you. Tournaments are about accumulation.
