Default Heads Up Tournament

We're a little short on our home game tomorrow with just four people. I was thinking of doing a heads up tournament for a change.

We could do a traditional tournament structure, but I was thinking a round robin format might be better with only four people. What could be used as a tie breaker if the standings ended up 2-1, 2-1, 1-2, 1-2? Total time to win?

Any other tips?

Can't the (2-1) and (2-1) just play it out?

Or give the title to whoever beat the other in the game between those two players?

If you're doing a small round-robin tournament, I'd say no statistical tiebreakers. If two players wind up tied at 2-1, they play it out. If three players wind up tied at 2-1, a three-man playoff to decide it. That's probably better than the alternatives of (a) giving one player a bye, or (b) having a round-robin playoff.
