Default Why is raising UTG with suited connectors so standard at 6-max?

Recently, I'm seeing this kind of mid-sized suited connector raise from UTG in 6-max a lot more than I remember seeing a year ago.

Can somebody explain why raising UTG with suited connectors at 6-max is standard? I thought that once in a while this kind of thing was OK to "mix it up" so you aren't so predictable, but this now seems to be completely standard. Folding UTG with suited connectors seems to have gone out of fashion.

Why is raising with these marginal drawing hands out of position the new standard?

It's not. I think it's only profitable for nits who don't get action otherwise.

YOu see it a lot because of all the hands that people raise UTG these are the ones they run into most problems with, lol!

It's not standard. I think raising small pairs is marginal too depending on table conditions but the 2+2 dogma disagrees.

Suited connectors are the most overrated hand on the forum. It's like some people have been listening to Vince Van Patten - or they take the concept of Shania way way too seriously.

The example you posted is 5handed, where it's a little bit different than 6handed. 4handed (so you're basically "CO" when you're UTG, or however you say it) I raise this alot. Same with CO/button at 5 or 6handed tables. Raising SCs UTG in a 6handed game however is most likely not +ev so I do it only to mixup my play

Seriously don't raise UTG with 78s! You should be raising hands like ATo and KJo from there...

Suited connectors for most are not profitable raised OOP, because quite frankly most people do not know how to play OOP.

Anyone not raising small SC's and PP's from UTG in deep stacked SH'd cash games are quite frankly boobs for not figuring out how to take creative lines with them OOP in HU and multi-way pots.
