i think bluffing this river is suicide at microstakes. i think firing the turn is much better.

I like betting the turn here. The A is a good scare card and should make villain very hesitant to call you with what would have been a top pair hand. I dont like the river because it is very possibly villain has the 9 and is hoping you bet for him.

I checked the turn for a free card.

He might have, he might not have, but I think this line gets called pretty lightly. I dont mind taking a free card, but then Im going to probably check the river as well here. The reason why I like betting the turn is because of the A. If the turn was a low card then I obviously check as well.

the river makes it more likely he will think you dont have a 9 as well, meaning he will likely call with any pair. bet the turn because often you will take the pot right there and it builds the pot so if you do hit the river you can win a large bet. id rather just fire the turn AND river then check turn and try to bluff river. i think your getting called tons with your line.

hmm dunno about that.
my reasoning was:
flop: i raise and even call a push with the strong draw.
turn: i check, i am IP and if he got an A he c/r me and makes me fold.
river: i missed my draw, but the 2nd 9 came in. my line looks a lot like a 9. he'll probably fold most pairs.

but i probably should have bet the turn.
