Assuming button never folds, then he needs to be opening >45% for this to be +$EV even if we don't consider the added EV of folding and letting the BB try to bust.

one of us has our numbers wrong here.

I am doing a party 6max sng in sngpt (payout 60%/40%) and its getting AQs +0.1% vs 29% opening range (i just assumed he shoved) with stacks 2100/1000/900 at 100/200

Payout structure was 60 - Ist 40 2nd.

Big stack had not been pushing often - I knew he had a good hand and would not bee pushed off of it by my -re-raise. I knew he would call my all-in.

Glad this one has inspired some debate. Even for a small amount of $, this one seemed like a "classic" SNG question to encounter on my first outing.

I'm wrong. For some reason I used 3100/1000/900 at 100/200.

no i think your stacks are right, devin - 10 players at 500 chips = 5k chips in play. 1k for OP, 900 for bb, which leaves 3100 for button.

That's about right for stack sizes.

Let's assume, because the OP hasn't bothered to tell us differently, that the pay out is the same as most online 6max sngs, which is 60% for 1st and 40% for 2nd.

[/ QUOTE ]
The ones I play pay 2:1. 60:40 would make a difference - I'm not sure he's pushing wide enough to make it a push if the payout is that flat.

Assuming this is a 10 handed tournament, with 60%/40% payouts then its a realllllly easy fold with AQs.

With the payout of 60/40, the analysis I did before is pretty flawed. Assuming stacks of 3000/1000/1000 if you just fold and 2000/2000/1000 if you call and win, you need to win this hand over 2/3rds of the time (about 67.5%) for it to be break even. AQs isn't even that good against ATC, so given what you said about him raising pretty tight, this is actually a fold.
