Default Borgata LO8 - 75/150?

Hey guys I was just curious on what people's thoughts were about the above game...I'm not much of a limit player, strictly PLO8 and I've had really good success in PLO8...I very rarely play 10/20 LO8 on Stars and am a slight loser/break-even player...I think a lot of it stems from being a POW (PayOff Wizard) as of late, so I'm working on that...

I'm heading down to AC next weekend and was just wondering if I would get murdered in this game...And also how much do you have to have to sit comfortably? $5,000?

Thanks.

5k is enough for the buyin and rebuy.

i don't think the 75/150 is the regular game. it's usually 80/160+ w/the same people playing in it every weekend.

you may have a hard time beating this cuz it goes short-handed and you're having trouble beating 10/20 online.

but in any case, good luck and go play. life's too short to nit it up and you can always make the money back playing your best game.

Yeah I have to see...I'm going down there with some non-poker players so I might not be able to get away, but I figured I'd ask just in case...

I was thinking the upper level game might be a touch easier than a 20-40 game or so which I would figure would have the local pros...Might get lucky with a few rich boys who don't give a $#!T at the 80-160 game...Short-handed would be interesting especially at these stakes...I've had mixed success at 5/10 SH...

Does this 80/160 run with any sort of kill?

On my infrequent trips to the Borgata over the past few years (weeknights), the only Omaha has been at the $10/$20 mixed game and then at the $100/$200 or $200/$400. Nothing in between. Your experiences may vary.

And how did you find the 100/200 game?

What stakes do you usually play online?

Consider taking 10 grand at least.

Even during my short adventure at Stars 75/150 I had at least twice a 5K downswing. And every single session that I logged in had the bigest loser between -4K down to -7K.

Edit: I know you asked about a live game but I believe the swings can be similar or even bigger if it gets short-handed.

from the mid limits i've played live vs. online, what i lose in 1-2 hrs online playing ok takes me 3-5 hrs steaming to lose. live for me is much easier to beat.

i assume you're taking about 10-15k for the other games but you're thinking of sitting down with 5, this right?

are you going to be around AC for the next few weekends? i'd be happy to give up edge playing PLO8 w/you to get a game going. the last PLO8 game i played there was sick good. guys commiting w/top set on a three unders boards. was sick.

in a 75/150 game with a kill (100/200) you can expect to have $5000 swings one way or the other fairly often. i.e., i played a 17 hour session my last day in Vegas and by the middle of the morning the game had taken on a feverish pace with multiple raises and pots contested multiway, and throughout that session I was $5000 ahead or $5000 behind multiple times. I think that on average, if you sit with $5000 you'll be fine, but dont be surprised if you play well and go broke, as it is possible, as is playing well and being $10,000 winnner.

I usually take $15,000 if I'm going to play the game for any length of time, i.e., more than three days.

Ha ha I did not find the game at all. While I was prepared to take a shot, the time I inquired they had only "two four", which the nice lady then explained to me was 200/400, apparently noticing the puzzled look on my face.

On another day, the dealer at the 10/20 said that the play at the 100/200 was worse than the mediocre play at the 10/20 game.

My stakes online are anything from .50/1 to 5/10 PLO8.

i see far worse play in higher stakes games than i do in midstakes games.

small stakes can be horrendous, midstakes is often a grind, and high stakes falls somewhere inbetween.

in high stakes games i often see two or three players at the table who likely couldn't beat 5-10 online. i.e., players who know how the game works, like the rules and what not, but have no strategy whatsoever, players that relate a strong hold'em hand to a strong LO8 hand, and players who dont know the meaning of 'free roll'.

but with those players comes variance and dumb aggression.
