Lyoto Machida is literally the only pure karate guy who's any good. FWIW, GSP credits much of his striking to kyokushin karate.

The idea of a 'pure kung fu guy' in MMA is predicated on the expectation that the 'kung fu guy' would have no outside exposure to wrestling, submission or other arts. This glaring weakness usually manifests itself when the 'kung fu guy' is put on his back and gets GnP'd or has no idea how to defend against, say, a triangle choke. They consequently don't usually make it out of the lower levels of competition.

For what it's worth, Machida is a decision beast, even though he has some really great victories under his belt.
