TPTK, common turn situation
Don't know much about villain but so far he hasn't been out of line with me. Fairly aggro so far preflop.

Re: TPTK, common turn situation
Ugh, worst turn card ever.
I check, might call a small river lead, value bet if checked too. |

Re: TPTK, common turn situation
Well, the two most likely draws got there. Does this player check after he hits a draw? And if you check behind on the turn here will he put out a really big bet on the river because of your show of weakness?

Re: TPTK, common turn situation
Cool, most people seem to agree to a check.
Hero checked River 10 Villain check Hero check Villain wins showdown with J10 I was a little gutted but reminded myself that whilst I allowed his actual hand in for free his entire range was all over me by the turn and further betting was likely -EV |

Re: TPTK, common turn situation
Put yourself in the villains shoes for a second. Are you going to value bet the river on this scarey a board on the river with something like KQ? You wouldnt get called by many worse hands so your bet would probably be pretty small (like half pot or less).
If the villain puts out a bet bigger than half pot on the river it is unlikely a bluff since all reasonable flop draws got there. So he would be betting for value and be aware you may have checked tptk on the turn to keep the pot small so he probably has you beaten. Another possibility is that he was floating with nothing OOP and after seeing your turn check may put some pressure on the river as a bluff. But how many people do that move often and on flop that could have easily hit the PF raiser? If I'm going to try a move like that it will be on a ragged board. |

Re: TPTK, common turn situation
Looking at your flop bet closer it should have been slightly bigger (like $40-45).
Your turn check and river check were fine. Sometimes though, in position on a scary turn like this I'll put out a half pot bet (hey maybe this hit my hand) and shut down on the river (check if checked to and fold if bet at). |
