Default PLO8 ($100) UB -- BIG POT A BREWIN\'....

I'm pretty sure I had to play the hand the way I played it, but just wanted to make sure...I believe I have said in the past, I tend to get overzealous sometimes...

NICK6550 is at seat 0 with $26 .60.
Big Gray is at seat 1 with $100 .90.
yermudder is at seat 2 with $75 .55.
instars is at seat 3 with $64 .45.
g-dog is at seat 4 with $84 .30.
HERO is at seat 5 with $174 .70.
armandox is at seat 6 with $64 .95.
OmahaJohn is at seat 7 with $75 .90.
Jack Lumber is at seat 8 with $93 .50 (SB).
BreakUrHeart is at seat 9 with $120 (BB).
The button is at seat 7.

Seat 0, 2, and 4 called...I pump it up to $6.50 with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]10 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]...Seat 6 calls, the BB calls...Seat 0 FOLDS, Seat 2 CALLS...Seat 4 RE-RAISES to $27 and all CALL...

Now there are 5 players to the flop and about $135 in the pot...

We see a flop of...
T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Seat 2 CHECKS, Seat 4 bets $23...The action is on us with 2 people still having yet to act...WE???????????

I'd favor a fold in this spot.

Disregard, I just saw there was $135 in the pot. Misread the action.

I apologize for not posting my read...I've played with Break before so I knew in order to call a raise and a reraise he most likely wasn't floating with anything really crappy and suspect...The initial re-raiser...His reraise was quite odd, it wasn't a full pot sized reraise (as you would expect from AAxx in this situation given the number of people in the pot) so it was hard to put him on AA...In this game that reraise could mean really anything...I had a player limp, re-raise me from UTG with 8443 or something awful like that, so I really didn't think that the re-raiser had a monster...

You're getting minimum 2:1 on your money (and sometimes 3:1 or 4:1) with a nut flush draw, top pair, gutshot and second nut low draw.

If the pot was ~$40 or so this is an easy fold, but with $135 in there and no more than $90 behind, you can't be -EV.

So I'm guessing you are advocating pushing over the top of the continutation bet of the re-raiser so as to isolate him, correct?

You would muck a hand like this if the pot was smaller?? I'm guessing this is because our low draw is 2nd best and we still have people to act after us...

I just push right then and hope the 2 behind you fold. You have a great hand heads up, but 3 or 4 way you're just playing to hit your flush for the most part. The only thing you're really buried behind is A2 and a set. But that being said.. you never are making A23 fold and probably never a set. Which is why as Phil is suggesting if the money is deep a fold looks better, or a call hoping to spike a scoop heart, and praying the 2 behind you don't raise.

It seems to me that the purpose of a push over the top is not isolation (unless you seriously think someone is going to fold a weak A2xx here); it's to allow you to see both remaining streets for a fixed price. If you flat call and get two callers (pot is now $205), and the turn brings a non-heart A,3,6,7, or 8, then calling a turn bet will be difficult (though only BreakUrHeart will really have enough left behind to make it significantly -EV).
