Default Forum ettiquette question regarding the use of screen names

[ QUOTE ]
I don't think we should name villains unless they are users of this forum, and are not likely to mind.

Wouldn't using actual screen names and sites be a good idea? Especially now that the pool of regulars is smaller, and reads are more important?

Even if someone didn't like their name used, what would they do? Stop reading about how their toughest opponents read their play?

If anything, I think it would be helpful to see critiques of play by name, even if it were mine.

What is the purpose of the forum ettiquette that generally avoids the use of screen names when/if reads are important and the player(s) are regulars?

I don't see why people not like revealing online handles but when they play live they stuff like

commerce 5/10 asian mike opens

I think saying the screen name on the poker site is ok, but outing a posters screen name is not.

I think screennames should be used in most cases, but not in conjuction with 2p2 poster's handles. It makes the reads a lot easier for anyone that plays the same game.

I also think one should obfuscate screen names. I do a google search for mine regularly and there is no reason for random donks to find out our reads on them.

I wish I could change mine, but since I can't mine is very easy to figure out, I don't mind if people post hands naming me as villian

alot of other forums including liquid, uses nothing but real screen names when showing a hand history. I If they want to get out there and play poker, then we have the right to show what they did, plain and simple.
