NL200 - Combo draw play.

To become less predictable, I have been trying to play my combo draws the same way I would play a set. Problem is, I continue to run into sets when I do this. I would really like some input on the hand below. I feel there is a strong chance that villian (no reads) has a set here. Even if I think he does have a set, I shouldn't fold this, should I?

Is this how I should play almost all of my combo draws?

BB checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 bets $11, CO calls $11, Hero raises to $40, BB folds, UTG+1 folds, MP1 raises to $123.15, CO folds, Hero ???

I'm not sure I would raise this flop, but since you did its an easy call.

I'm all about playing my big hands and big draws FAST, like you did here, but this isn't the best spot imo. Its a limped pot so there is a better chance someone hit a set and there is less money to be won if your semi-bluff works. Taking a card for $11 isn't bad since you have position.

If you were oop I would suggest leading and 3bet ai...same risk but you gain more when the bluff works.

You have to call of course, and you have to know that you will call in this situation when you originally raise the flop.

You should mix it up with the combo draws as well as your sets, but of course u would never flat call with set on this flop. Nothing wrong with your raise and yes you have to call.

I agree w/ Mr Donktastic, in position w/ this many people in the hand, take the big pot odds/implied odds in your favor to make your hand. You're probably a favorite at this point so you didn't misplay the hnad, but you also have position and can get away from some missed draws.

If you KNEW he had a set you are like a 2-1 dog getting almost 3-1 on your call. But, you don't know for sure, so why not call.

I would not play this draw like this because someone with the nut flush draw could play it this way and that is the hand you fear most with at most 9 outs against it.

Sometimes play the combo draw like this and sometimes just call the flop. It is not an always situation and depends on your fold equity for reraising, and also it depends on the likelihood whether you are going to have to call an allin reraise.

FYP. Against the nut flush draw you're in some trouble. You're more like 3 to 1 against the nut flush, unless it's A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], in which case you're totally bent over.
