This may be really standard I was mostly wondering what you thought of the turn overbet push - I thought it would look like I was on a draw and villain seemed to know what he was doing at least somewhat

Aside from being pwned by JT or a set, I actually like this play and have been experimenting with more myself. I think overpairs reraise this flop, along with sets and flush draws. This really depend on how aggro the other players are too. Passive players will mostly just call with draws and raise with sets and two pair.

However, you think villian knows what he is doing, most players do IMO, they just dont know why they are doing it. The bad players even have a basic understanding, they just dont know when to fold or how to extract value. So the real question is, is villian aggressive or passive? How aggro is he? Very key thing to know. Is he capable of slowplaying and cutting back on his aggression in order to trap you?

Overall, I like this play as you really price out draws and might even get called rather light by KJ,QJ and maybe under pairs, 99, 88, if they put you on a draw.

This seems pretty standard to me.

Was thinking about some different options for preflop, but I guess there is no better way to do it than the way you did it.

I haven't seen him show down anything but basically I would characterize him as passive but not calling station passive - so far I have seen nothing tricky from him and have no reason to give him credit for trapping me here

u definetly did right by pushing here. if he had you , i think there would have been a raise after flop, and by just calling , he showed his weakness , draw or underpair. nice play

One other type of hand that actually should call you is some sort of combo draw, KQcc for instance.

I take that back, they should have raised you on the flop, but you say he is passive, so no way that is happening.

Well I am glad to see that this is standard because its standard for me - he called with T9hh and got no help so I won the hand, thanks for the replies

I guess I am the only one who plays it very different. PF I usually RR to 300 here and fold if he 4bets, well prob call a min reraise and pray for a monster flop. If he calls the 300 your stack is perfect for betting 2 streets whichever 2 you decide to do with 400 going on 1 street and 920 on the last. Having 2 2/3 PSBs is very useful and makes the decisions much easier for you.

If I misclicked called PF I def bet flop but prob go for c/r turn. You are a little deep imo for this shove, he calls with A10 like never, he's only calling with Jx and big combo draws which I don't think he has too often cuz they prob raise/jam the flop if hes solid. And if he's solid he is prob going to bet 95% or so of his holdings when you check and than you shove and he is priced in and you are 3 to 1 fav or better. If he happens to check behind that's great because you are ahead 100% of the time. Blank river I check and let him bluff me off my missed draw as well, scare card I check and depending on bet size decide to call.
