I'm there now and I'm still pretty much break-even over the last six weeks thanks to bonus money.

So the key is to always play for bonuses!

The reason I posted is that from my experience as a 20-25 VPIP player who is moderately aggressive, (which I think is fairly common play for those moving throught the ranks here) I think these are reasonable points to make your moves up, and obviously you can move up a little sooner if you employ 1/2 buy-ins.

I may make a color chart of this that shows it even better (especially the areas where there is overlap between full buy-in at one level and 1/2 buy-in at the next level up.

What drove me to think about it, is that I did NOT use my experience in this area on the way down-- which would have saved me a decent sized chunk of bankroll during a really bad run. Obviously this is when bankroll management is at its MOST important. I think pretty strict adherence to these guidelines would be helpful to most players on this site moving up through the PL08 ranks.
