Default preflop decision III

the villain here was the chip leader but now im 2nd mainly by beating the villain. he's been limping alot pre trying to push people around or outflop them post. his raise in this hand 8bb is very very out of line with his play since he has a rrived at the table.

1. flat calls and traps.
2. miniraises to set up flop all in and get more chips in pot.
3. shoves and goes for the homerun and pray he calls but doesn't have aces.

I don't see him ever folding to a shove so I'd just shove it in right now with KK.
With AA I'd really want the BB in so I'd flat then.

I'd call.

His preflop raise is large enough so it is unlikely anyone else will come along. If he playes AA it doesn't matter, as all chips will go into the middle anyway.

This huge raise-size isn't typical for a high PP, maybe he plays AK that way or a medium PP like JJ or TT. Against any of these hands we want to get all his chips and not chase him away preflop.

Second point is we have position. So my first choice is a call, second a miniraise. Shoving with KK here is a waste of value imo.

I call and let him hang himself on the flop.

I can't imagine him ever folding any of those hands preflop, but he might on some flops. I dont think I can ever remember someone raising to 8BB and folding to a shove of less than 30BB more.

i shoved . i shoved bc id been beating him like a drum and i thought he'd call out frustration. if he folds i win 10ish bb good result w no chance for loss. if i call and ace hits I am now in terrible spot. same if i mini raise.yes he gets to see 5 cards to hit an ace if its an ace, but its +ev every time shoving to me is best +ev bc i can be huge stack.he called with......ace jack! i won.and this was the key hand in winning the tornament. if there's a decent chance they will call the homerun bet make it.
