Default I play turned 2pair passively

No read on BB
Button is weak/passive but not all that loose

Absolute Poker
Limit Holdem Ring game
Limit: $2/$4
6 players
Converter

Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is CO with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
2 folds, Hero raises, Button calls, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (8SB, 4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, Button calls, SB calls, BB raises, Hero calls, Button calls, SB calls.

Turn: A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (8BB, 4 players)
SB checks, BB bets, Hero calls, Button calls, SB folds.

River: J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (11BB, 3 players)
BB bets, Hero calls, Button calls.

Results:
Final pot: 14BB

I'm going for the overcall all the way here. There are like no draws and I am not sure if I'M ahead of BB. I put Button on a weak made hand. He would prolly fold to a raise.
Do you like it?

There is like 10 billion flush and straight draws

Turn is a must raise for both value and protection. The pot is getting pretty big so getting people to fold their 4 outers or 2 outers or 3 outers or calling 2 with them is much much much better than having them pay 1 bet.

Turn play is extremely terrible IMO - sorry

Nope, hate it. You have a strong hand in a decent sized pot on a drawy board, seems like a very easy raise.

^^ OK OK OK

Got it. I overestimated getting a little more value over protecting my hand (that was more vulnerable than i thought at that point).

Thx for putting this straight.

My first instinct was to raise either turn or river.

Your read on Button is that he is ~semiloose/passive/weak. This leads me to think that there could be value in keeping him in, because we probably are ahead of him.

BB looks like to have some sort of made hand, either 8 or K, on the flop. Or he hit an OESD. Him leading the turn makes the draw less likely.

The turn brings a FD but I'm not too worried about that.

I think your line looks ok.

Raising the turn for protection vs SD or FD and value could be good too. We cannot be sure if the weak button stays in if we call but I guess we can expect him to fold most of the time. As BB is unknown your line might still be the safe bet.

EDIT: I still suck at short-handed.. didn't check the pot size... getting over 10BB -> should have trusted my gut and go for the raise all the time.

[/ QUOTE ]yep.

Raising is mandatory. However, how do you play the river if you are reraised by the villain and get heads up (assuming you are very confident of your read. Lets say he has a <1 aggressiveness over a few thousand hands). Can you lay this hand down on the river UI?

No way, if I get 3bet i'm calling down and still expecting to win.
