Default Draft of Florida Gaming Compact

This is one of the drafts of the gaming compact between the state of Florida and the Seminole Tribe.
http://blogs.tampabay.com/buzz/files...on_draft_i.pdf

According to the St Petersburg Time there are other drafts that allow or disallow certain games. This draft allows card games like blackjack but disallows craps and roulette.

Anyway, I've read this draft but I can't determine if it allows for the higher poker limits.

Anyone else want to take a go at this document?

"Must prohibit those under 21 from gambling" - If the Seminoles go to 21 and up this would be a big change as right now the gaming age is 18 both at the tracks and indian casinos.

WTF?? Why am I being negative when I say that the word "poker" does not appear in the document linked above? It's not an opinion, it's a fact.

But here is my opinion: I would not want to see the Seminoles be allowed to offer higher-stakes poker unless the parimutuels also are allowed to. I think it stinks that the Indians are given such a huge competitive advantage.

They have a huge competitive advantage? Just imagine the advantage, if they would not have signed that pesky treaty with the U.S. Or, imagine that advantage if they had not had their lands stolen. Now that would be an unfair competitive advantage.

WFLA TV ran a package (complete with Atlantic City B-roll) on the compact today, emphasizing the $50M upfront to the state, $100M annual guarantee, and projected $1B over 5 years the Seminoles are prepared to pay the state. Also, it featured Republican legislators objecting to balancing the budget on the backs of addicted gamblers, or something like that.

The September 11 deadline has seemed to shift to the end of the week, also.
