Last week, I saw two people at my 4/8 table donning headphones - one was a girl listening to her Nano.

depending on what limit your playing though I find the table chat to be way more exciting then anything on your ipod. 1/2 NL on any weekend night is like a strange social experiement fueled by booze its great!

Then agian this might be your reason for an ipod...

What is the rationale behind prohibiting the use of ipods (or other mp3 players) at the table? Are the card room opeartors concerned that it slows down the play? Many times I have found myself sitting next to a person that wants to talk my ear off about annoying or uninteresting topics. Therefore, I love the option of putting on my headphones. It always works.

I've had to remove headphones at Foxwoods before.

Seems to be inconsistently enforced.

I think it's the fact that it's a small electronic device more than that it's an mp3 player. Or at least this is what I had always assumed.

When did this happen? I haven't been there in a few weeks, but it didn't seem to be a rule then, or ever.
