Re: The Office Season 4 Premiere 9/27
[ QUOTE ]
KC - hm, IIRC, there's been some minor foreshadowing of Andy's interest in Angela. There was an isolated scene last night where Andy (in contrast to Dwight) consoled her about the dead freezer cat. I think last season Andy mentioned that Angela was hot (or inquired about her status) and has def. randomly complimented her about things (e.g. those gay baby posters, although that could just be Andy being a suck-up in general). But yeah: [ QUOTE ] I think people are just assuming that's where the plot will go, given Dwight and Andy's rivalry. [/ QUOTE ] That's mainly it and pretty sure we'll see some kind of Andy-Dwight showdown for Angela. -Al [/ QUOTE ] he said 'sorry about your cat' when they were in the kitchen. not sure if thats what everybody is talking about. |

Al, yeah I remember the cat thing, but I didn't view it at all as a come on. I just thought it was meant to display what a social retard Andy was. But I guess it could work the other way. Also, was I the only one bothered on a deeper level than normal about the cat murder? It weirded me out a bit. Who the f kills a cat? [/ QUOTE ] A farmer. |

Re: The Office Season 4 Premiere 9/27
You know, I had a friend from South Dakota try to explain to me one time about barn cats, how there were just tons and tons of these feral cats running around, and that's why it wasn't so awful that his friends would throw firecrackers at them. That's when I realized that some places just have totally different attitudes about animals than I do.
Korea is one of these places btw. |

Re: The Office Season 4 Premiere 9/27
It was just ok for an "Office episode". The rabies quilt was great, Kevin's fist to Meridith leaving the office,
Myth "3 Americans die every year from rabies". Fact "4 Americans die every year from rabies". It is the silent killer, no it is the foaming mouth killer. |

I thought it was a pretty funny episode, but I'm gonna be really annoyed if every episode has some premise around which NBC can sell t-shirts and faux-livestrong bracelets.

Re: The Office Season 4 Premiere 9/27
Since I've been reviewing the past three season's worth of The Office DVDs, I've become very aware of how they shoot and edit the show. Am I wrong for thinking they used too many camera angles and quick cuts? It really broke the mockumentary illusion for me. All of the outdoor, non-office scenes seemed especially guilty of this and at points it degenerated into a bad comedy movie.
I also thought the storytelling was really choppy. |

Re: The Office Season 4 Premiere 9/27
shunk,
To me, I think it's pretty clear that the audience is not supposed to think that every thing we see is documentary footage. At least that's the assumption I work with when I watch it. |

Re: The Office Season 4 Premiere 9/27
Dids, there are definitely scenes where they drop the pretense of the mockumentary, but usually it's done for significant storytelling purposes that really move the plot along. Even during those scenes though, they do a good job of shooting as though the cameraman was hiding behind a car shooting through a window, hiding in a different room, etc. and it keeps up that illusion. I don't know, this episode did not do that for me at all. There was one instance where the camera trails Pam after leaving work, and even then it seemed forced, contrived, and oddly paparazzi voyeuristic. I don't know, I could be batshit crazy.
