Default bet size check up

Stars 200NL

Reads: I have been at table for a while, villain is unknown and exhibits calling station tendencies. However, the last hand I played vs villain, I 2-barreled the classic rag flop, with a K turn.

effective stacks $280 - 4 handed.

UTG - Hero raises 8 with A3s

BTN - Villain calls, blinds fold.

Flop A73r - pot is $18 (rake subtracted on all streets)
Hero bets 14, villain calls.

Turn A73 6 - pot is 44
Hero bets 36, villain calls

River A736 9 - pot is 114
Hero bets 72, villain calls.

so, bet size comments? is river bet too small?

Thanks
Mike

id bet 16 on flop, like 40 or whatever on turn and make a read about river bet. if i got the calldown mode vibe from him id bet big, if i thought he was thinking about folding bet maybe 70 or so like you did

the good thing about stars is that you can make timing reads a lot better cos of how awesome the software is, party and ftp are glitchy and buggy pieces o [censored]

I might go a little bigger on the river, but this is more or less fine.

His range is Ax or something that beats you. If you are beat, you can't fold this hand and you are going to get it AI. If he's scared of big bets I think your play is fine, otherwise I'd go 20, 60, AI.

Why do you overbet the pot here on every street?

It's a PSB on every street, not an overbet. And the reason is that I want all the money in.

Look at the difference:

OP line and pot size (rake deduction not included)

Flop pot is 20
Hero bets 14, villain calls.

Turn pot is 48
Hero bets 36, villain calls

River pot is 120
Hero bets 72, villain calls.

My suggestion

Flop pot is $20

Hero bets 20, villain calls.

Turn pot is 60
Hero bets 60, villain calls

River 180
Hero bets all in easily.

its fine to up your bet sizing against calling station type players who seem bad/unobservant. this bet sizing is pretty standard against a normal player, but against someone who has shown they like to call and you have just 2 barrelled, i like pot, pot, shoving.

looks perfect to me, no need to pot any street and blow him off his hand.
